It doesn't really matter, at this point generational identities are so politicized that they're almost meaningless. Someone talking about "millennials" could be talking about elementary kids or young professionals, and the most recent generational boundary to be well defined is the boomer/X transition. Beyond that, people just make up whatever makes them feel best about their own identity.
