I typically don't install much, just the OS. All my applications are on separate partitions. So I usually go:
WinXP
Drivers/DirectX
Then any apps I find that don't work without being installed first, such as Visual Studio and Office
Everything else is launched from toolbar menus that are saved on a separate partition.

assuming you are talking about your own computers, why do so many of you install 2+ spyware removal programs? I keep my computer patched up and use firefox and I've never had a spyware program install itself on my computer. Why do you all suck so much at life?
