Ok this is going to take some hardcore thinking lol it was so long ago. Almost 15 years. I was 13 at the time. I can remeber 2 that stuck out in my mind the most and recently started playing again.

1. Theme Hospital - You build a hospital, Hire doctors, and treat the sick with unusual treatments.
ex. The inflation room - Takes people with bloated heads and pops them
ex. The Slicer - Takes people with extra large tonges and cuts them down to size.

2. Constructor - There were a couple of games named this. I wanna clarify which one I am talking about. It was made by Acclaim.

Its exact features were
1. Build your own town
2. The way they unlock things. First you need to build all redneck houses. That only requires wood. After you build all 3 then you go on to cement (the rednecks act like rednecks also. If you give anything to them the neighbors have to get it to or they get upset. The picture of them is funny it shows 2 fat slops that are married and the woman has two babies crying on her hips.
3. The 2nd set of houses are punk rockers and hippies.
4. There are other computer players that you play against.
5. After you unlock certain things you can terrorize your competators.
a. Sending Hippies into a cement factory to shut it down
b. Send someone to go squate in an emptry house.
c. Rob one of the houses or factories.
d. Buy alot more land to expand your town.
e. Theres alot more you can do but to much to explain
6. You start off with two forman and 8 workers. you need to send at least one forman into a spot to start work and build it. The works always follow.
7. You can upgrade the houses 3 different levels. The bedroom - faster babies, Kitchen - longer life I dont remeber what the other 2 are.
8. First level houses have 2 options for kids. Workers (builders), and if they have a computer you can make 2nd tier people (hippies or punks)
9. You can combine Workers (builders) to make new things. 4 workers becomes another forman, a repair man, a mob boss, and so on.

1. Ok has anyone played or do they remember playing either of these two games.
2. What were your favorite (please give a somewhat detailed explanation of the game. To help us remember if we played it a long time ago. And to help us relive that past experience.
3. Please keep this to only Windows 95 and Dos games. If it required 98 please leave it out.

So lets hear what you got.

Thanks a ton for responding.

If anyone wants to relive there good old dos days all you need to do is search for dosbox 0.73. If you dont still have the game disk you can search for it. They are out there. I couldnt find my constructor cd at first. I cant remember the website I got it from but I was capable of downloading it for free. They had alot of games there two. So enjoy

Hmm... Raptor was pretty awesome... Zone 66 -> intense. Of course you got your Doom's, Quake. Then your Commander Keens... Duke Nukem 3d, Redneck Rampage, MDK...Mech Warrior 2... Only 2? Man...

I think I'll go with Qua-no, MDK, and Duke Nukem 3d.

MDK

A third-person shooter, with a lot of variety in gameplay. In the beginning of each level, you free fall down to the planet, trying to avoid detection beams and then missles. Then you make your way through the level, combining action and platforming, until you end up at the boss. Jumping plays a big part, as your character has this glider/parachute that you can use in midair. Thats the basis for one battle, where you have this huge open area where you need to jump across platforms, battling foes in mid air, while trying to avoid a giant wrecking ball flying across the whole thing (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUC54UderSQ&feature=related). Different arenas present different gameplay; one has a section where you slide down a shute, collecting powerups and such. Another has a snowboard area, snowboarding + gunning down enemies snowboarding with you (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YriWMKzCBH4&feature=related). Still another has a section where you wear a decoy suit, to walk right into a friggin' death trap safely so you can plant a bomb... at which point the decoy fails and you RUN. LIKE. FFFFFFFUUU-. Awesome pickups such as The world's smallest nuclear explosion.

Duke Nukem 3d

Jon St. John.
Balls of steel.
Strippers.
Awesome engine.

Man, gaming was so much better back then. Now I need to stay up all night and get these games and play them to death. Thanks :awe:

Those were like the golden era for PC gaming, way too hard to pick just 2. Transport Tycoon Deluxe, Jagged Alliance, WarCraft 2, Lords of Realm 2, Gabriel Knight 2, Blade Runner, Heroes of Might & Magic... I could go on and on.

Master of Magic, and I know it wasn't a great game or anything but I played the hell out of Dungeon Hack.

same here, i loved lord of the realm 2.

What's sad is that until about 3 months ago I had my original LotR2 disc/box but my wife took it to Goodwill without me knowing :( :( :(

Is it available anywhere as freeware/abandonware?

I have my LOTR2 CD, I should reinstall it. It was pretty awesome. Haven't seen it on abandonware sites.

The answer to the OP question is probably "Civilization" and "Star Control 2", but that's a really large era to choose from, so I could name 20 games and still not be done.

I forgot about lotr2 that game was awesome. Lotr3 though really stunk they guted everything that made the 2nd one great.

Also Heroes of Might and magic was cheery also.

I still like constructor though and theme hospital

I dunno.

Wing Commander 4 (works great in DOS and Win95)
Master of Orion 2 (ditto)
Tie Fighter
Duke 3D

Shit, I could think of dozens. But I dont wanna. I came up in PC gaming during that awesome time when games were just fun and people didnt worry about what it cost to produce or market. Looking around nowadays I am not happy with what I see. It just makes me sad.

TIE Fighter -- one of the best games ever. I REALLY wish they would remake it.

Doom 2, Duke 3d......a few other good games are tied for second in my view.
