Chocolate and onions are poisonous to dogs. (Dont know why, but thats what my book says)
One of our neighbors dogs recently died from eating chocolate; he somehow got ahold of two hershey bars and got really sick. They took him to the vet, but there was nothing they could do and put him to sleep 🙁

Depends on the size of the dog too. I know someone who's lab ate a bunch of chocolates sitting in a car and they took it straight to the vet. The vet gave the dog something to make it vomit and it did the trick.

i think very fatty things will give em the runs.

i just feed it cheapo food. it grew up on cheapo food and seems very healthy, so the stuff about fillers being bad is mostly probably bunk. dogs need calories too, its not just "filler" 😛 heh don't mix treats or scraps in with its normal food, you don't want to encourage begging/over eating etc. if foods boring, then food is eaten when hungry😛

sometimes a little chicken and maybe a piece of fruit.

too much nondry food without brushing will cause cavities.

and yes, antifreeze is sugary sweet death.

i believe its one oz of chocolate per lb. but dogs eat quick😛 bigger your dog the less likely its gonna die, unless you got oodles of chocolate laying around.

Old computer parts...ie modems, graphics cards, motherboards....I hear that floppy disks are okay though and improve the dogs overall agility.

Pieces of chicken containing the bones still.

yup, chicken bones are bad, or any bone that "splinters" when it breaks. I am not sure, but Avocado may not be good for them either

That only works with 5.25" floppies.... 3.5's are for cats.

I know chocolate is supposed to be poisonious but i wonder to what level since my dog(bichon frise) has a habit of finding all the halloween/easter candy and eating it while we are out shopping including the wrappers. And shes not a big dog. But shes never gotten sick from it.

Bad assed hamsters get the zips.

My tiny irish terrier ate an entire Hershy bar once, along with quite a bit of wine...never had any problems and that was years ago.

You should never feed a dog anything that contains animal fats.

PERIOD!

You will cleaning up spittle and puke till it dies once the pancreitits(sic) sets in.

Chocolate, in any form. Baking chocolate is the most potent, milk chocolate the least (but still dangerous).
Macadamia nuts - may cause paralysis.
Onions, scallions, etc. anything from the onion family - may cause loss of red blood cells.
Milk and most dairy products in general will give them the runs, they're lactose intolerant.
Anything with seeds or bones can pose a problem; choking, difficulty digesting, stray bone piercing stomach or intestines, etc.

Why do doggies eat grass?

Sorry to bring this old thread back up, but dogs eat grass when they are having stomach problems. The grass makes them vomit, which usually fixes the problem.
