What are the oldest and newest parts in your current build?

Just a random thought I had while browsing the forums... So in your current awesome gaming build, what is the oldest part in it? For me it is a 250GB storage drive, purchased July 2006 (originally the OS drive). My newest part would be a GTX 260, purchased January 2009. Everything else falls in between.

Interesting topic 🙂

My 24/7 machine, it would either be my ATI 1900XTX or my Maxtor Atlas15K SCSI 36g drive; i think the SCSI is older... I had it way back when playing Day of Defeat on my 478 socket P4 HT 3.06 HT machine. Although I have been using the same NEC DVD/DVRW drive that I use as an external component for both machines. That's been around for a while.

My Gigabyte machine is fairly new. Probably all bought within a years past. I'd say the case is the oldest Lian Li V1100b

Very interesting indeed.

Oldest part: tie between my Q6600 and 2 of the 4 (1GB) sticks of RAM
Newest: tie between the GTX 260 and DFI LanParty JR mobo

Oldest: Tie between my old green RaidMax case, and the truly horrible, noisy, no name DVD ROM drive that is only plugged in once in a blue moon.

Newest: e5200, Mobo, and RAM were all purchased at the same time, but I think that the e5200 would be considered the 'newest'.

newest - antec basiq 500w psu, bought retail for 50 bucks because the old one became unstable.
oldest - probably the enermax case, bought new for my smokin' fast 1700+ rig quite a few years ago.

oldest part of my comp... a 12x (max burn speed) cd-rw drive i gutted from an old dell. No idea how old that is.... Actually, I have the drive in my comp, but it's not actually connected to anything, since I hardly use it. Save a bit of power that way.

My newest part is my MSI 4830.

Everything else is about 2 years old.

Newest - Radeon 4670. Bought it four months ago I think.

Oldest: My Samsung optical mouse from 2002.

The rest of the rig isn't much older than the mouse though. 😀

Wow, that keyboard is as old as I am!

older than i am... =/

It still works great. Probably would for another 22 years, if there were some way to connect it to a modern computer in 2031. 🙂

New rig, with a few older parts in.

New case, CPU, ram, mobo, video card.

Oldest is a hard drive from 2003. Whopping 120gigs.
