What are the odds?

I just got off the phone with my sister. Apparently, she was having a bad day (school drama) and was driving to the store with the sunroof open. Out of the blue, a bird takes a crap on her head. Big, white blob smacks down in the center of her head.

Now, it certainly illustrates the tone of the day, which makes it all the more funny; but what are the odds of a bird scoring a direct hit in a moving car? I find that to be amazing. Anyway, I just thought I'd share a story that made me laugh my ass off. 🙂

Wow, life sucks for her.

Closest I have come to that was about 5 years ago, sitting on a bench under a tree. About 18" away a hear a "SPLAT". Just missed the mark you damn bird 😀

Isn't it considered good luck to be sh!t on by a bird? In this case I would assume extra special super joy joy luck considering the odds of being struck in a car.

lol... that's hillarious!!

Tell her it could be worse though. Once my cousin was driving with her window open, a bird flew in, she freaked out and rolled the van 3 times.

That's not so bad. I was driving down the road once with my window open. A bird flew into the window, but didn't quite make it, instead hitting the door jam by my head. Talk about scaring the XXXX out of me!

wonder why birds like to play chicken with cars... they could easily fly waay above the traffic but no, they LOVE to swoop a few feet in front of 1-2 ton roaring monsters moving at 60+mph...

They use those swoops as initiations to let other birds into their pack ... 😛

Years ago when my wife and I were dating we were sitting under a hundred foot tall oak tree at sunset, it was all very romantic until I heard........ THWACK!!........AAIIIEEEEEE!! 🙁 Mywife got smacked on the head by a big ass acorn, the first branches on that tree were more than fifty feet up so that acorn had some momentum behind it, she said it felt like getting smacked in the head with a "D"-cell battery.

A friend of mine was driving with the window down. A bee flew in and flew up his shorts. It stung him in the leg and he freaked out trying to get the bee out of his pants and hit a telephone poll. Totalled the car. Luckily, he was ok aside from the bee sting.

A few things have happened to some friends, family and I.

I was riding my bike once when I was younger (12 or 13) and I got crapped on my head by a bird. My brother was driving with the windows down at my parents' lake house and a bee just stung him as it was zipping by. No one saw it, my brother just started freaking out.

A bird hit my car and was stuck in the grill, a few weeks ago I was following my fiance home (right after Ivan), and a bird played chicken with her car, and I saw it dive and bounce off the top of her car into the grass.

Her brothers have had a bird hit their cars as well.

Strange...

I was biking once and got hit by bird crap too.. my neck ran smack into it :frown: A sudden warm and wet feeling on your neck can be quite unnerving!!

Tell her that and she might have a more positive outlook. Now her "exceedingly-low-chance-ticket" has been used and she won't get hit by lightning.
