What are they and are they any good? I'm not looking to totally break the wallet, but I don't want a piece of crap. Thinking of getting a flip phone, camera optional. Thanks.

I got myself a Sanyo PM-8200 in the summer. I love it

PM8200 is a good bet. You should try out any Sanyo tho. Some ppl find the earpieces are a bit lacking. I notice the difference but it doesn't bother me much (I have a Sanyo VM4500. The earpieces are practically the same on all the Sanyos).

The new Sprint phones (ie all currently offered) have SMS the same as all the GSM phones. They made the switch from WAP-based shortmail about a year ago. I for one was thrilled when it happened.

EDIT: feel free to PM me anymore questions. I'll probably be back online about 9 tonight (PST).

i have the pm8299 as well. it is an awesome phone, AND it comes in blue, silver, or red. nice camera with flash. liove it!

isn't texting the same on practically all phones? i have no probs sending texts with my 8200, its easy to send and recieve.

The newest phone coming out is the MM7400 (which is the latest and greatest). I would recommend that.

Its already out. Check the website (and yes, people have bought it and are using it)

I was referring to a previous post. All of Sprints' current phones have messaging just like that of any other carrier. Wasn't this way until about a year or so ago.

I don't know what you want in a phone, but i didn't want the PCSVision or camera phone or any of that crap. I just got a Motorola v60v and i've been very happy with it so far. Good battery life and excellent reception.

Man, talk about overpriced for what you get😛 If you think the reception on that V60 is good then try a Sanyo. Besides, just because you have the features doesn't mean you have to use them. In reality you're really not paying any more for them.

The new Sanyo candybar phone is pretty small, RL 4920 I think.
