Hello all,

I have been into all sorts of PC games in the past like the Doom series,Quake, Lucas Arts like monkey island series, Maniac Mansion, Diablo. Then there was the early stuff text adventures! Zork! ala Infocom. I have a few modern games such as UT3, UT04, UT03, Far Cry, Dark Messiah, FEAR Combat.

I'd like a top ten of must plays from people who are current in gaming I hope my list above can give you an idea of my tastes. I do like the good RPG Baulders Gate comes to mind. My system pretty much can play most things on high with little issue.

Any suggestions would be welcome and thaks to those who reply

I haven't played a game on my PC other than Call Of Duty 4 in weeks. However, when I do, it's either Orange Box (everything in it is great) or Bioshock.

I suck at RTSs so I'm leaving some things out. People seem to love Sins of a Solar Empire. I can't comment on it or any other RTSs.

I have read that SoaSE had a VERY steep learning curve. I suck at learning, but want to play soo bad!

Where can I find a demo?

I was just looking at the Gamespot site and Assassin's Creed is out now. According to their review its a must play(assuming their word means anything to you). I was watching the video review and it seems interesting if you are into that type of game. I might pick it up and try it.

Unless it differs GREATLY from the 360 version I can't see how its a must play.

Well the PC version has a better control , keyboard and mouse support is better than 360 version and they also added few extra mission. The only think really messed up was System requirement. this game really needs a :

3850/8600GT 512MB +
3GB of ram
Dual core 2.4Ghz :!

My GOTY picks per genre:

FPS: Call of Duty 4
RTS: World in Conflict
RPG: The Witcher

There's certainly others worth playing but those were the ones I found the most enjoyable and compelling, making me think its been worth it to have a rig capable of playing them.

Dawn of War +expansions is a worthwhile purchase, nobody would disagree there :)

Currently, and for the last year or more, the only games i've dabbled in are:

World of Warcraft (kinda cuts out all other games while you're into it)
Civilization 4
Dawn of War online
Call of Duty 2 online
Sins of a Solar Empire

All of em are good games if you enjoy their respective genres.

There are no must play games of today, you need to go back 4-5 years before you find anything worth playing.

for me:

Oblivion
WoW (although that has leveled off since expansion is coming soon)
Team Fortress Classic 2
Civilization 4
Hitman Bloodmoney
Fallout 2
Neverwinter Nights 2

It seems that all my faves are stuck in 1998 (back during the good ol Black Isle days), today developers tend to focus on wiz-bang graphics and cinimatics rather than crafting a great story. Which is why I have re-played fallout 2 seven times start to finish and only played Bioshock once.

The only game im looking forward to is fallout 3
