$500 on a 19" MAG CRT (1600x1200, monitor only supported at 56Hz, but I overclocked it to 60Hz)
$300 for a 1GB HD
$150 for a PII-300 SL2W8 (maybe more, I traded in a NIB sound card too to get it at that price)

$200x2 for two Q6600 G0s
$300 for a 19" LCD with TV and video inputs
$200 ea for a 20" Samsung LCD and a 22" Westinghouse LCD

$800 on a P4 3.0Ghz w/ HT & 400FSB Was so expensive at the time as it was the first 3Ghz chip, had HT, which was very new, and newly upped FSB.

$380 on an Radeon 9800 Pro, same rig.

I have learned my lesson and since then, have not broken $150 on CPU, nor $150 on graphics since.

Also learned my lesson on 10k RPM drives, the higher density 7,200RPM drives that come out a year from then will blow them out of the water, just as yours start to make a high pitched whine. Awesome.

Posting from $700 rig ATM.

E7200 @ 3.65Ghz 403FSB
4Gb DDR2-800
HD4850
500Gb Seagate
500w PSU (Antec NeoHE)
Vista
~$150 on case/fans/AS5/HSF/cables etc. I like my comps now to look nice, sound quiet, and run cool. 3.65Ghz was a good compromise overclocking wise.

I bought the Intel SSD 32GB drive for $600. Boots windows in seconds, loads photochop in a couple of seconds. All worth it.
