What are the most credit hours you took in one semester in college?

I took 27 credit hours one semester and passed them all. In fact, I got a much higher GPA than a friend of mine that was in a few of my classes with me.

I found that some things just had to go. For instance, one class I could have received an A for I had to accept a B in because I did not have the time to put together a 43-page project in that class. I would have suffered too greatly in other courses.

Has anyone taken more than 27 hours? Did you pass them all?

21, mechanical engineering classes mostly. that semester was hell. I don't know how you could do 27, you must be some kind of super genius.

Woah.. I'm taking 6 hours and balancing full-time work (40 hours) and I'm finding it managable, but challenging. I can't imagine 27 hours. That's nuts! Do you ever sleep?

21 credit hours and 20 hours of work per week. Weekends were free from both school and work.

I'll probably be taking 18 semester hours my final semester in school. Combined with working 43+ hrs a week and getting married...it should make for an interesting 3 months.

Yeah, I just got engaged too... But we're putting the wedding off until later when one or both of us are out of school because of the obvious reasons ($$$ and time).

I'm registered for 21 credit hours in a term that begins next week, most of my classes have 10-20 hr/wk projects, too. (computer graphics major)

I'm probably going to be working 25 hours a week too, to pay for gas and books.

No, no I didn't. Actually, I forgot to mention that I took a 2-week trip to England/Scotland during that semester as well. 1 week was over spring break, but think about it: right before spring break, a bunch of teachers pile tests on you. Plus, those who are nice enough to know that everyone else is piling tests on you give you tests the week before. Imagine having all of them in the same week.

The best part was, the day we were leaving for London, I fell asleep on my couch after being up all night getting the last of my homework done. I'm late there and I'm a little behind in packing (though I was mostly packed already). So I drive over quickly, and run my papers to the two teachers upstairs. I see one of my other teachers there. She said hi and I told her I was about to leave. "Leave? Where?" Uh oh. I had a checklist of all my teachers (9) to make sure that I had told all of them about this. I had her checked off, but I think I did it by accident. Plus, I talked about it so much in my classes I just can't imagine how she could have not heard me mention it (I'm not a quiet guy). Regardless, I'm about to miss a week of her class, there's a test in her class the next week AND two papers due. I have 1 hour to get back to my apartment, finish packing, and be at the meeting point. To top it all off, I'm so tired and sleep-deprived that I swear to God everything seems like I'm watching from outside my body. Very surreal. I had to apologize to her AND get her to move the test and homework dates back for me.

She let me off the hook, but DANG was I lucky. She was easily the most strict teacher I had that semester.

Well...we've been together for 4 years and engaged for 1.5 years. Don't want to try and deal with planning a wedding, finding a job and possibly moving all at the same time. :)

15. I just don't see the point of taking that much more unless it was my last semester and I was trying to get done. Seems to me like it would make life very unenjoyable.

The most I've ever took was 24 credit plus 25hrs/week part time job. It was a desktop support job, so I pretty much either sit around or do my home work while working.

Oh it was DEFINITELY my last semester. I had an internship at my current place of employment and they said that if I could get out in a year I could have a job. That would have originally been two semesters of 18 hours, but since I failed two classes and got a D in another my first semester, I was kind of forced to hurry things up the second semester. Plus, I felt like I needed to prove (to myself more than anything) that I could get my sh1t together the second semester and that I was ready for the grown-up world. Not that I was young at 23, but I was obviously not mature enough after that first semester.

The moral of the story: don't go over to your neighbor's house every single night to play pool and drink Canadian Mist with your friends if you're not a trust-fund baby.

Though in retrospect the sheer number of empty Canadian Mist bottles at his house were amazing. We had them lining the bottom of his one-car garage, stacked two high, and that didn't count the ones he threw away (many).

I've done 21 but two classes were unit-mastery intro types, where you just go in to take your exams at your own leisure. I don't think I could have taken 21 of full chem..

I've taken 18 twice and I'm a sophomore. I did it so that my last couple years I'll be free to work for the PD. If I work full-time during my senior year I'll probably take 9 credits or so (since I'll probably have to work 50+ hours a week).

I'm taking 5 courses (1 course equivalent to 4 credit hours, 4 courses is full load) and two of them have labs (4 hours each, they don't count extra). So I have the equivalent of about 28 credit hours. Plus 9hours/week working, 5 in biology prep room and 4 as lab TA.

Science majors at my school get royally screwed since we have lab requirements but they don't count as credits.
