How can they even get away with $4.39? That's god damned extortion.

I think it needs to hit $5/gallon before people really start making decisions that will positively impact our energy consumption. Diesel would be about $6.50 or $7.

Cities would see such a surge in public transportation usage that they will start investing heavily in expanding bus/rail services beyond metro areas to target suburban commuters.

My state started construction on a commuter rail system last year. Can't wait until it's operational.

I'm with you 100% on this. I'm not saying public transportation would solve all of our problems, but more and better public transportation would sure as hell help.

higher taxes I guess

Unleaded $9.00 gallon London UK.

Diesel @ $10.00 gallon.

That's for the US gallon. Imperial gallon add 10%.

Higher taxes FTW.

Hmmm...I thought unleaded was now over $10 considering the exchange rate?

4.15/gallon for the middle one, whichever that is. About $4.30?/gal for premium.

I would like to also know if it matters which gas station I go to. Chevron is hella expensive here, it's 1.5 times as much as for a gallon of milk, while at some other station I've it's alot cheaper. I live in S. FL btw

Does the "brand" of gas matter as much?

Portland.

Just hit 4 bucks recently.
Cost me 66 dollars at the station last night.

I'm suprised its so expensive. Arent we murdering massive amounts of arabs so we can have cheap gas? Lord knows we arent slaughtering them to find weapons of mass destruction.

I like your thinking...Time for a bumper sticker that says:

"My SUV gets 8 Iraqi's per mile."

Here in Rancho Cordova / Folsom / El Dorado Hills, CA it's 3.87 to 3.97 / ga for regular (87 octane) unleaded.
