Ok, well between the two vanilla 6800s it is obviously the memory.

6800 256MB vs 6800GT
I am not sure if it is just a clock difference here.

6800GT vs 6800Ultra
Just a difference in core and mem clock. All pipelines are the same in both cards.

the GT still has 16 pipelines as where the 6800 256 has 12

Also, the (vanilla - 12 pipe) 6800 - either come with 128MB or with 256MB memory. ALSO some cores and memory are clocked differently and there is often a choice between DDR1 and DDR3.

confusing, huh?

the 6800Ultra also comes in a variety of core speeds (some are called O/C'd - requiring a 480w PS) and some come stock with water cooling . . . Ram speeds also vary. :p

Time to look for a good price/performance GT or Ultra
