one country is an absolute shithole behind the times and has people running around believing in a silly male-dominated religion... the other is a war torn impoverished mess and a haven for terrorists because of 8 years of failed U.S. foreign policy and lies.

Fixed that for you.

WMD -
Demonstrated by NK.
Bluffed by Iraq.

Educational level of people.

Iraq was not homogeneous.

Iraq did not have a super power as a sponsor when they overstepped.
NK is smart enough to not have overstepped yet

Iraq didn't bluff at the end. They allowed inspectors unfettered access before Bush started the war. That's why Hans Blix became so bitter afterwards. The inner circle of the Bush administration had already decided to go to war before they started working the UN to get as much diplomatic cover as they ended up getting. Saddam got the point pretty quickly and capitulated. Blix didn't realize that Cheney and Rumsfeld were using him.

The most fucked up thing about the Iraq war is that if Bush had just allowed the weapons inspectors to comb through Iraq, and not gone to war when they found no active weapons program, it would have been one the greatest diplomatic accomplishments in recent memory. Instead, Bush will go down in history as one of America's worst presidents.

NK has mountains and trees. American military can't deal with this.

So does Iraq.

We have allies in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Israel. What'd you think we do, storm Iraq via the Persian Gulf, Normandy style?

Iraq invaded KUWAIT and looted it? Had and used missiles to reach Israel.
Believed own propaganda.
NK has missiles to reach US. Believes own propaganda. Wants to conquer SK.

The difference is allies.
Iraq didn't have a superpower that could potentially step in. NK does.
China wants to keep NK as a buffer and they sure don't want to deal with all of the refugees if war breaks out (because no one is fleeing south where the conflict will be).

NK hasn't demonstrated the capacity to reach the US. The only rocket with enough range that NK tested has failed. I also don't think they've figured out how to reduce their nuclear devices to the size of even a large warhead. And even if they did actually get the taepodong 2 to work, it could only reach alaska.
