Just as the title states. I have been trying to look up information about this and there are so many conflicting Forums post that I have offically gotten very confused. Not thats its hard to do for me lol. So I am wondering straight up what can you do and what you shouldnt do.

I know you cant
1. Deframent the ssd
2. Dont allow a program to constently Write and rewrite on the drive. Reading from it is perfectly fine though.

I know you can
1. Run an antivirus program (I have had conflicting reports on this one many say you cant but others say you can. I dont have my antivirus software installed on my OS drive/SSD drive. Its on a 3rd hardisk in my pc)
2. Run Trim every day. (intel actually states its recommended to run every day)

So sorry to be a pain but what else can I do and not do, and what I have written so far is that correct or am I mistaken somewhere.

Thanks again for your help.

I also have the newest firmware installed on the Intel ssd x-25m 2nd gen (silver) and the Intel toolbox installed.

I often wonder what BitTorrent does to an SSD. I have the program installed on my SSD, but the "Incomplete" and "Complete" folders are both on my 1.5tb.

Thoughts??

I use newsleecher for mine. I have it all setup on my D drive so nothing is on my c drive.

Actually how I have mine setup is

1. C operating system and drivers SSD
2. D System Utilitys Sata 500G drive
3. E Games Veloraptor raid system

After my os was installed now I dont even touch it. The only time it gets written to is when I install a game and they have files that go under the C: like saved files or setting. Btw if anyone knows how to edit it so that doesnt happen on that drive I would love to hear it.

1. I have turned off system restore now and I also min the space that is reserved for the recycle bin.
2. As for the downloading like I said I use my other harddrives for this along with my games and any utilitys only t hing that gets installed on my C: now is drivers (ex. Nvidia drivers)

Ok so what else is there I am very grateful for your help I really appreicate it. Also am I correct when I stated its ok to run antivirus (avg) and spyware (spybot) removal software because it doesnt write to the drive. (to my knowledge it doesnt write to it. I wanna double check with you guys)
