What are the best PS2 2 player CO-OP games...

Always hard to recommend 2player co-op games for a PS2 because I often play them on GC. But a couple come to mind:

The Warriors - Good CO-OP beatemup action
Guitar Hero - Although this would be an expensive kareoke option but I hear its fun in a group.
We <3 Katamari - I've always played it single player, but I hear it makes a good party game. This isn't so much a game of skill, but a game everyone can enjoy right off the bat.

What type of genre are you looking for? I can check which RPGs have multiplayer, there's an absolute ton of fighting games on the PS2 if that is what you want and they are always 2player (Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs SNK 2, etc).

I'd check if X-Men Legends 2 is co-op. I play it over the internet on my PC and it is a ton of fun. The internet code could use some work but the game is more fun than Diablo2 IMO and a similar experience to it. I'm assuming if it is as good as the PC version without the annoying internet hastle, it could be awesome.

Anybody know the way the two player in guitar hero works, I thought about getting the it but, I really don't know the perks of having a second guitar are over the one guitar version....

I was just about to suggest that. It's great fun with two people. The two player mode is just like single player except with lots of shouting.

It's tough to find a good review of the multiplayer aspect of the game. From what I've read it is like each person plays parts of the song in 2 player mode and if you only have 1 guitar, 1 person uses the controller. But you could also simply take turns playing the song with the guitar which usually works perfectly fine in a kareoke game.

My younger brother and I spent far too much time playing ESPN NFL Football. I think it was 2003. We were normally not into sports games, but it was very addictive.

Just to update, I plopped down the cash for Guitar hero and it is great....

I also bought Katamari Damacy (spl).....but, I haven't had a chance to play it yet guitar hero is to much fun...
