Amazon only carries the 6th edition of Marine Biology by Castro and Huber. I need the 7th ed. What are the most reliable alternatives to Amazon?

Thanks.

I have tried that; I am looking for peoples' experiences considering I'll be using my credit card, etc. And some links that google provides are dead.

I think I used abebooks a few times back in college.

They list multiple copies of 7th edition from their sellers, around $50 a copy.

I second ABE. They have alot of "international editions" that are usually <50% of the "American" version and have softcovers (and crappier paper, but who gives a shit?)

www.bestbookbuys.com FTW

They don't sell books; they just point you to the best deal among sellers. Includes used books in their search. You do you have to verify the price because it's not real-time so it can be off if they recently changed the price.

You can buy the book and use the syllabus to find out which chapters you need, photocopy them, then return it.

Half.com

I bought a bunch of my books BRAND NEW STILL WRAPPED for half the brand new price at the student bookstore. I mean hell, if I can buy something brand new on half.com LESS than USED books @ the student store, then hell yeah I'm jumping in. I can't believe people buy used books at the student store. It's like what 80% price still? Half.com FTW.

i use www.addall.com, which searches a lot of bookstores and sorts my cheapest. Note that sometimes the cheapest books are international editions - same content, but usually black and white (and depending on type of the book, the numbers could be in a foreign currency)

If you are fine with a digital form of the textbook there are plenty of places online where you can torrent it. Not sure if your particular book is available though. If not you can get some pretty good deals locally.
