I'm about to spend ~$1,200 on a road bike; I suppose that's splurging for a college student.

I only splurge on shoes... but I don't spend that much- just around 120 or less. Only every other year. Merrells.

Being in college and living off loans/parents, I don't splurge on much.

home audio equipment, clothes (lots of clothes), shoes, fine dining...there isn't much that I'm cheap with...although I don't have a nice shiny car right now, that's another 6 months down the road.

Beer & food. I splurge on high-quality and often expensive beer and expensive meals at very good restaurants. It's something I enjoy so fuck those that don't understand.

Clothing and pens. I would say the computer but it's a demand for what I do for work.

I have good watches, but man I'd love to SPLURGE on them.

I could care less for food, but I do prefer mine healthy. Other than that it's free game.

Top of my list would be food (eating out, groceries, ingredients, alcohol, cooking equipment, hydrocolloids)
Watches (not so much anymore)
Cycling equipment
Flashlights
Clothes
Shoes

I spend almost $4 for a dozen eggs.

I eat out for lunch every day. I just don't like food that has been sitting for more than a few minutes, which would include any bagged lunch.

I wear underwear that costs $20 per pair.

I wouldn't say "splurge", but I have been slowly cleaning up/restoring my 87 caprice for the past few years. Some areas of town I can't stop at a traffic light without being asked if I wanted to sell it.

If only I could splurge on computers these days. I'm too poor to keep up as of late. :(

Cell phones. Even when I was in high school and didn't have much money, what money I had I spent on cell phones. my senior year, I had the Ericsson T68 (the europe version, not the SonyEricsson trash version thet released here). Color screen, GPRS, bluetooth..all WAY before it's time (2001). And despite being tiny and practically weighing nothing, the thing was a TANK. I would take my expensive cell phone and throw it against the wall for no reason other than to show people it could take it.

Good times. I won't be throwing my N95 against the wall now.

Hmm... not much, maybe my two monitors. That's the only thing I can think of.

Not counting tech, I'd have to say my Surefire. Although even my wife will praise their worth.

Hmmmmmmm.......I bought a SureFire torch for £60, amazing thing!

I don't really slurge on stuff. I'll get a nice 50" plasma screen but that isn't too obscenely pricey. I have had a string of nice phones for their time, V3688, T68, P910i, mda mini and iPhone.

I will be shelling out for a nice car in the next 2 months or so though.

High quality stuff really. If I'm going to buy something, it's gotta be GOOD.

Flashlight: Yeah I spent $60 for a Fenix. People asked me why, and when we went camping, they found out why. Someone thought his Mag 6D was the sh!t, but I whipped out my 2AA Fenix and showed him how this thing is just as good. Oh and of course they loved my light after they found out it had strobe abilities and we could party it up in the tent.

Monitor: Why would I spend $1000 on a 27" when people buy cheap TN 24"s for sub 400? I don't know. Or my friend who buys a 37" 1080p screen. We calibrated both screens and it was day and night that my Dell 2707 slaughtered the cheap panels.

Cell Phone: Why did I get a $600 N82? People were like wtf you don't even have touchscreen, I want an iPhone over that. Well guess who was laughing when we got lost in Tahoe and I whipped out the GPS in my phone and the whole caravan followed me? Seriously.

The other day my friend was selling his 52" DLP. 720p, piece of crap, blah blah, blah blah blah you name it. I wouldn't pay even $800 for it even its a discount. I've showed tons of people TV on my Dell 2707, and they can agree it's far more impressive with my calibrated colors than on blown up 52". I wouldn't buy a large TV that's a piece of crap, and my parents agree too. That's why when we bought our 46" LCD, it had to be top of the line, not some cheap westinghouse crap, or some crap DLP.

I think it would be Charmin, ive looked for some that's inbetween the best and a good price, and I found angel soft to be there, but after using charmin everything else feels cheap to me.

video cards

ammo - usually when I buy it I order 5,000 rounds or more.

Fly Fishing rods - because it IS better to catch fish on a $1300 Highland Mills rod or an $800 G.Loomis rod than the amateurs that are using the cheapo rods.

Optics - if it doesnt say Swarovski, Zeiss, or Leupold on the side, it is not worth owning.

Flashlights - I would rather be stuck in the darkness than use anything other than a surefire light.

I am a surf fishing maniac, always have been since I was 7 years old. I love the high end reels, and rods and splurge on them quite a bit.

Anyone else?

Mostly climbing gear. People get a bit of sticker shock when you tell 'em what a rack costs.
