Wow, reading this thread I just realized that it's been 30 years since I worked in an advanced chem lab (well, at the time). I'm trying to remember, I may have been using FTIR for identifying epoxies used by our competitors. But, yeah, you're going to have to send it to a lab for analysis. There is a curious oral/anal fixation running through this thread - ignore that, it's very not scientific
