What are some recent examples of Microfinance in the world?

The most famous example is the efforts by Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, offering tiny loans and training to Indian women for entrepreneurial purposes, leading to bigger impacts than just handing money out left and right.

Sort of like teaching them how to fish rather than giving them fishes.
