They talk loud, you tell them to quiet down, and they stop for a second, and then they're practically screaming again.

Is there some logic for this? Hearing loss?

Just wait, soon they'll be in management positions. Talk loud and talk constantly - you'll go places in life.

Yeah, my family is notorious for getting loud when their point isn't made.

I used to get loud when I was younger, but I have since found zero use for it.

I don't talk people when they get loud in an argument. Your point proportionally loses validity the louder you get, imo.

that's what i thought too when i read the thread title but i don't think this is a case of that.

it's a case of people who have always talked loudly since a very young age and were never told by their parents/adults to tone it down. they think of it as normal and their family members don't have a problem with it either. these are the same people who for example will talk like this at 2:00 am when they return from an outing and KNOW that every single person in the house is asleep.

i know of several people/families who do this. myself personally, i was always told to keep my voice low/normal when talking as part of proper etiquette.

Yeah, my sister is like that along with some of my friends. Some people just like hearing themselves talk, I guess. It is super annoying and I will tell them in a sarcastic way to shutty.

They're Italian. I'm not joking either, my father's side of the family are all loud. I'm not loud only because I'm half Italian, the loudness gene got filtered out thankfully.
