i have a AMD XP 2000 + 256 MB DDR RAM .. i was woundering if more ram would do it .. but i would like to see some post.

It's amazing how hardcore we are when we have rigs that place us in the 99th percentile of PCs...and it's still not enough!!!!

I was throwing out some magazines tonight and took a Dell ad out of a Dec. '97 issue of Yahoo Internet Life. The top system was:

P2-300
64MB RAM
8.4GB HD
19" monitor
Matrox Millennium II 8MB video
32X CD-ROM
SB AWE64 audio
Altec ACS-490 speakers
USR 56K WinModem
MS Office 97 SBE
Win95/IE 4
Mouse

The price? $3399!!!!

4-1/2 years ago, if you told people what we'd be whining about today as being "too slow", they'd just want to smack you!

Sell it and buy a Radeon 9700, that's the only sure fire way I can think of. 256MB of system ram should be enough...

Oh and btw, what in the hell are you playing that you need a higher framerate than a Ti 4600 can provide?

Must've found some high polygon virtual pr0n that I haven't. 😀

Ummm..lemme see.. more FPS..... turn off AA, turn off Aniso..... that'll be the most you can hope for.

Run your games @ 640x480 in 16bit colour and turn all detail settings to lowest. You'll get hundreds of FPS in most games but they will look like ****.

Seriously though, why is a Ti4600 not fast enough for you?

You might be mistaking page file swapping (due to lack of RAM) for choppy frames. 256MB ought to be enough for most games though...
