I'm starting to believe in the Atkins diet. There was a great article in the NY Times saying how Atkins has always been right whereas the government's low-fat, high-carb diet is what's actually causing people to become obese.
Hmm, so I should become a major meat-eater, hehe.
I tried the Subway diet and it worked, I lost like 5 lbs in a month. But I think I'm losing weight at too slow a rate doing that. I'm not all that fat. I'm 5'6" 151 lbs. I just want to lose 10-15 more lbs and I will be happy.
Salads and veggies do have carbs -- but they're very GOOD carbs and you shouldn't avoid them. You aren't going to gain weight eating garden salad and celery sticks.
