What are some "nice" temperatures to have?

What's some "nice" idle and load temperatures to have for the CPU, VGA, Chipset (of mobo) and System?

My system(in sig) idles at 34c and at load never goes over 48c, stock cooler. NB gets hot, dunno how hot(no temp sensor) but heatsink is hot to the touch, has not been a problem though.

GPU around 40C - load 50

room temps: 75F

That's impressive!
My cpu is 40 idle, close to 70 load in a 75F room!
Of course, my cpu's a QX6700 and is going to run hot no matter what...much less overclocked (which it is, of course! 🙂 ).

he's watercooled and he's probably giving you @ stock 😛

-273c is pretty nice too, just be careful not to go much lower or you might destroy the universe.

Note that its only nice if that's at load.. for idle that's nothing to brag about.

How can we say without knowing which CPU and video card you have in mind?

I have this mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813136043
and E8400, a GTS250 and an Antec Solo having only a rear 120mm fan (on min. speed)

My current idle/load temperatures are:
CPU: 31/56
Mobo chipset: 51/66
Video: 47/72
System: 38/50

How were those temps recorded?
That mobo chipset temp seems a little high to me.
I've got Everest & it shows my mobo temp @ 27 (idle) & cpu I think is the average of the 4 individual cores (which right now is 30).

Shens on those temps.

20 degrees Celsius = 68 degrees Fahrenheit

Your idle temps can't be BELOW ambient.

.

With DFI's Smart Guardian app that came with the mobo.

can around 20 mean 24?

can around 20 mean 24?

Then why not say mid-20's instead of insinuating your numbers?

Mine idles at ~18°C, but my ambient is 60°F

To me, Around 20 would be closer to 19-21 but whatever. I can inflate my temps too and say around 15 since mine runs at 18.

On my QX9770 using the BigTyp, my load temps at stock were about 50C (48C if I remember correctly). At idle, the temps were in the high 30s. The ambient temps in my room are 20 to 25C.

I bet my underclocked, undervolted E6400 on a TRUE runs nice and cool. (EDIT: Can't tell because it's running a CLI Linux system and I don't have a temp monitor program for it.)

But good temperatures are somewhere under 35C for idle and under 50C for load for most systems. +/- 15C depending on the cooling and system.
Chipsets will run from 25C-45C. Graphics will run from 30C idle under nice cooling up to mid-40s at idle, and loading anywhere from 50C to 80C. Lower is always better. 😛

Your CPU could be concave!!

Try lapping it a bit.

My E7300 @ 4 GHz used to be 45 idle and more than 75 at Prime95.

After lapping it to the copper and the heat sink also i got 30 idle and no more than 60 at Prime95. So i conclude it pretty much does the job.

I ran my chipset at 92-100C (physical heatsink temperature. Who knows the core?!?!) for a good 6 months.
