what are some "luxury" items that you cant do without?

Cell phone. Regular home line (POTS) is fine.

Fancy computer. Truth is an old PIII 1GHz notebook would do everything I actually NEED my PC for. Just not the things I WANT it for.

Fancy car. A used 2-door economy car will get me to work, the bank, the grocery, etc.

Fancy TV. I actually don't have a fancy TV. I have a four year old 27" CRT that does just fine.

Cable TV. OTA channels are fine with a good antenna.

Eating out. I love eating out, but I could cut my food budget in half buy eating cheap at home.

Fancy condo/house/apartment. I live in a regular house right now but I used to pay a LOT of money for a ritzy condo. Finally realized that it was stupid to pay that much for a place to sleep.

There are more.

Most of these things are why Americans are in debt up to their eyeballs.

My Kubota tractor (and associated implements including finish mower, woodchipper, rototiller), dual monitor setup, high-end kitchen tools (Kitchenaid mixer, Henckels Professional S knives, etc), Petzl headlamp, Corona pro-grade handpruners, top of the line Stihl chainsaw, good appliances (Whirlpool Duet washer/dryer and french door fridge with bottom drawer freezer), really well-stocked shop (woodworking/metal/etc tools)

I can live without them, but they sure make getting things done a lot easier and more enjoyable. And it helps satisy my tool fetish.

what custom title? i've been pulling for her to get a recognition title for the work she puts in on the birthday threads, but it's been futile so far.
