1. I definitely used to mailbomb people and IM bomb people. now that I look at it, AOL had some crappy programming back then, if you could IM people quickly to make their AOL freeze and sign them off.

2. I used those AOL proggies thinking how leet they were, but really they were basic macros.

3. I used to phish. I think everyone used to do that. Even after aol added the warning "we will never ask for your password" I could still get l/p's so easily.

4. I used to DL pr0n from AOL! i thought i was so cool cause it was so hard to get pr0n back then!

5. I used to go into lobbies and spam "THE KILLER IN SCREAM IS HER BOYFRIEND AND THE FUNNY GUY" over and over then leave, and continue. and this was the night I returned from seeing the movie.

wow, AOL really brought out the loser in me. good thing i'm not like that anymore 😀
 
I convinced my uncle who I was living with at the time to sign up for a regular ISP that was $20/month with unlimited hours 😛
He still kept the AOL going for the Battletech and such, though.

pretty much the same. aol introduced me to newsgroups back the day. and i got a lot of warez off their server rooms. I use to serve as well...those were the days..

The thing where you could make someones a: go on was fun. Or playing a bunch of sounds in a room... Hillarious immature timewasting.

I had it on Mac too, which I believe came out a little after the windows version. So I was a n00b to windows people when I first got online.

macwarez, which they then disabled that room, and macfilez came to play, then they disabled that room as well, then zelifcam (macfilez backwards) came and stayed!
 
oh yea, i also thought i was cool cause i had the screen name purbeast already used up, so I made an alternate account pul2l3east and thought that was so l337.

I served when i eventually got a windows machine. i remember dlin AOL 2.5 cause it was the best for serving. it would go so much faster than 3.0 and 4.0 cause it used so little resources and didnt have all these stupid graphics.
 
I did some VERY BAD things on AOL, but I wont mention them because I don't know what the statute of limitations on that kind of stuff is.

I uh ... missed out ... on the AOL experience.

I dialed in through IBM's service. Had an ibm.net email address.
