I'm currently using regcleaner, ad-aware, and diskeeper all quite frequently. Anything other apps I can use to help keep my PC in top shape?

What I did was created a batch file that (in this order):

1) Runs windows disk cleaner.
2) Defrags all my drives/partitions
3) Runs Adware auto-update.
4) Runs adware.
5) Runs spybot update.
6) Runs spybot.

I run this batch file about once a week. I also use Tweak XP about 1 every month and defrag the boot partition, rearrange boot files, Ect. Also, on a side not I use driver cleaner 3.1 when I'm uninstalling and reinstalling drivers (just to make sure no more pesky files are left behind).

The main thing is to research APPS before installing them. Get them from repuatble places. Google to see if they contain spy/malware. Find a quality app and stick with it.

Other than that run adaware, defrag, scandisk, and run a firewall (hardware or software based) and that should keep you good.

i am sure you are well aware of this one, turn off all the unnessary background services with services.msc
there is an aging article at techspot if you need help
found
another (and possibly better) one thru googling

EDIT : make sure you use services.msc or do it access it thru administrative tools, NOT msconfig

Anyone have any links to information on how to create a batch file. I wouldn't even know where to start, but it sounds like something that would be very convenient. Can it be scheduled to run itself every day at a certain time?
