thx.... added some... do you guys know what time netflix ships out the dvds?

They ship it as soon as they get your DVD... Initially for me they would recieve the DVD the day after I sent it. They slowed down after a while which is why I've cancelled.

I just started the 2 week trial for Netflix...

I'm stumped...

I only have wedding crashers and 40 yr old virgin...

I've found handbrake for OSX/Linux to be awesome for encoding movies. Go for H.264.

with netflix, if you really like a movie, can you choose to buy it from them? if so, are the prices decent?

On the top right next to where it says "Your Account" there is a "Buy Movies" link.

They only offer pre-viewed DVDs though.

Here are a few that I've watched recently, and some that I have no problem watching a second or third time..

Collateral
Goodfellas
Identity
Crash
The Amityville Horror (2005 version)
The Longest Yard (2005 version)
Dead Presidents
Schindler's List
In Good Company
Ladder 49
Man On Fire
The Manchurian Candidate (2004 version)

I have not bought any myself.

The top rate is 9.99 for new releases and the like with older titles being less (7.99 and 5.99). Their site says the hardcover case is included.
