What are some good drawing pencils?

Can anyone recommend some good mecanical pencils for drawing. I guess drafting pencils could work too. Looking for a gift for a friend who draws. Btw, he prefers mecanical pencils and has the usual pentel and regular mechanical pencils. Looking for some high quality stuff.
