IKEA used to have these great end-grain maple boards. Heavy, but cheap and fantastic. Don't know if they still have them, though.

I love Ikea non-stick pans too... cheap and they get the job done.

I've been using the same couple ikea pans for 3 years and the nonstick enamel is still flawless.

One cast iron pan can serve the role of every other pan , you can even bake in it, makes great corn bread.

I've cooked eggs in a cast iron pan and I've cooked eggs in a non-stick.
One is a pain in the ass.
One is incredibly easy and painless.

If it's a pain in the ass with cast iron then you are really really doing it wrong.

10" or 12" iron clad skillet for a single guy?

I have the 12" still in the box, but I'm thinking that it might be too big?
