I want to play co-op mission games with my nephew but I'm having trouble finding stuff that isn't a MMO or FPS. Saints Row and GTA type 3rd person would be ideal but not required. Age or eye candy takes a back seat to fun and gameplay. Any help would be appreciated.

How old is the nephew? My GF's son (who is 6) loves Dungeon Defenders and according to steam has put more than 100 hours into it.

If hes old enough/his parents will let him, I would recomend Doom 3 Coop mods or Doom classic doom sourceports. Always fun, but certainly both FPSs.

The Spec-ops missions in CoD:MW2 are so fun in coop.. few of those levels my buddy and I died a bunch of times and it was never frustrating because it was so fun.

It's on sale right now on Gamefly (used to be direct2drive) for $9.99

also another vote for Portal 2

Dawn of War 2 Series (RTS)

Dungeon Defenders is a solid suggestion too.

If you're going for Diablo-like, Titan Quest is probably the best there is since Diablo 2 itself.

Yeah, Titan Quest is awesome. Still a great game to this day and one I still enjoy playing from time to time.

Based on parent wishes, realistic looking people with realistic guns and killing = bad. Destroying entire villages of elves and other fantasy creatures with huge swords and magic = acceptable. :)

I suggested Borderlands earlier and would also vote for Titan Quest.

I dont know if they would like it, but Rise of Nations in LAN mode was a lot of fun for me and my grandson a few years ago. He also enjoyed Civ 5.

I highly recommend Dungeon Defenders, and Spiral Knights (F2P). My son and I have been having a blast playing those as two-player co-op games.

Some other suggestions:
- Jamestown
- Burnout Paradise (not exactly co-op, but lots of fun to play together)
- Terraria
- Sanctum (If you would prefer a sci-fi version of Dungeon Defenders. Not as fun IMO)

Trine & Trine 2 are a great coop games as is Portal 2. With plenty of custom maps available, you'll have more than enough content to keep you and your nephew busy for a long time.

I play quite a lot of co-op games..I'll list a few games here...

Gears of War 1
Resident Evil 4
Portal 2 (PLAY THIS)
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (this one is really solid)
Call of Duty World at War has a surprisingly solid co-op campaign
Magicka (quite fun in co op and short though)

There are plenty of other quality games, like Diablo etc. but I haven't played everything yet..!

Had a blast with Dungeon Siege playing with my brother back in the day. Didn't the 3rd one come out recently?
