Boys. Something I can get from Amazon. About $50. Toys, not video games. Either 1 more expensive toy or 2 cheaper toys. Thanks bros.

Do they still make normal rectangular lego blocks? I was at a little kids party (friend's kid) a few months ago and the Lego gifts seemed more like snap together action figures.

Yeah they do, they also do the fancy (messed up) lego that you saw.

On a more serious note Lego is never a bad idea.

My 6yo is getting more Lego Ninjago items. He already has a lot of Lego Star Wars and Harry Potter ones that he likes. Lego does have mini-figures that go along with various sets.

Lego

for 50 you can get one medium set, or 6-7 small sets.

if you are unsure if they will like a specific set, you can get sets of just the people.
http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Fairy-His...3954355&sr=8-3

these are awesome because i find that the people are what gets played with the most at the age you are talking about, it has a wide variety of themes, and they can be easily added to any future lego set as additional characters.

This question is totally depending on the child and how you raise it. My 4 year old grandson wants a Tablet. Thats what I will give him(not for xmas tho I hate Xmas) . The one year old wants a puppy good choice, His brother likes that choice. Thats up to mom/dad

Legos are popular with my son who just turned 7. Ninjago and Heroica are his favorites right now.

If he is inquisitive and scientific check out Snap Circuits. He might be a bit young, but with a little bit of help he can do it at 6. Got that last year for him when he was 6. teaches electrical circuits. My son can do the projects on his own now.. it helps that he can read now too. 7 is probably the more appropriate age for this though.

Awesome idea on the snap circuits. Saw your post and went to amazon to order a set for my son. Nicely done.

many friends have played with them.. then the parents go home and order it for birthday or Christmas gifts. I just have to keep an eye on him.. as he likes to try his own things and doesn't have the whole short circuit thing figured out yet. haha. its only powered by a couple of AA batteries though.
