what are some cars with quiet interiors?

I had two Saturn S-series cars and they were both noisy. The 95 was much worse, but the 2000 wasn't that quiet either. However, my wife has an L-series Saturn, and it is quieter than any of the Accords I've been in.

Do you still like the car? I've been debating between that and an Accord to replace my gas guzzling Crown Vic.
 
From noise alone, I can't tell when my Mazda3 is on. Sometimes I'll forget if I already turned the key while I'm setting stuff down in my car and I'll press the gas pedal to make sure. 🙂

The 1.8 L Audi A4 is also extremely quiet inside.
 
Anything Toyota/Lexus is extremely quiet. Even with a Camry, you can barely tell if the engine is running or not.
IME, Hondas are not quiet, unless on a very smooth road with non-performance tires. Otherwise, the road noise can be unbearable.

I would say, overall, the interior of the accord may last longer, but the Regal is definitely nicer. I got an LS with the leather and touring package. The suspension is pretty sweet and it's 200HP...it's got plenty of power. I would guess from the quality of the materials that it will last another 6-7 years before I need another car. Nothing's broken on it yet. 😉

I think it has more to do with the fact that its a Saturn than the size of the car. Not trying to knock Saturn build quality or anything, but they're just noisy cars in general, in my experience.
 
The new Chevy Cobalt is very quiet, much more so than the Saturn. They specifically built it to improve on the Saturn.

LOL...worse part about the whole thing is that I'm 24 yrs old and drive a buick... Interestingly enough, it has a ton of horsepower but I never want to speed when I'm on the Interstate. I always want to travel 70mph or 75mph....something about the comfort and the way I sit in the car makes me want to just cruise. I'm 6'4" and have a ton of space for hauling stuff and can comfortably carry 5 people....the Regal has bucket seats and a center console shifter so it's got a sporty feel, but the LED lights on the radio display are kind of large (for those with bad eyes). That's my only gripe. If you do get one, be sure to get the upgraded AC package so you'll have digital controls. The stripped down version sucks. 😉
 
lexus and toyota are going to be quiet. hondas make more noise in general although the new Odessey is supposed to be REALLY quiet. it actually uses active noise cancellation from the stereo system. basically like sitting inside a giant pair of Bose Noise-Canceling headphones.
