I am bored and so I've decided to start a thread about the fine arts
. I have always loved surrealist works like Magritte's (one of my favorite artist btw) and abstract things, but I am more impressed with the skill it took to make those old Renassainse type things. I don't know the proper genres (guess I'll have to do some research on google tonight) but as an artist (somewhat, I've been drawing and painting for 18 yrs now, but I do it only for the fun. And no, I don't draw DBZ) I have to appreciate the time it took to make them.
I also look not only at the technical side of the painting, but the underlying meaning as well. That's where my favorite Rene Magritte comes in. I actually painted his "Son of Man" painting on a ceiling tile at my school. I have been searching around tonigt and I found Maxim Federov. Take at look at some of his stuff, it's great. I like the one with the pyramid and the moon, and I think I may look for a print to spruce up my dorm.
What are some artist that you like? I am interested in seeing all sorts of things. I know ATOT has to have some artsy types
