what are good shoes to go with khakis?

i'm looking at what shoes go well with khakis? If possible athletic and/or casual suggestions?

It would depend on the color of his khakis.... black shoes look better with lighter colored khakis, whereas brown shoes go with just about most khakis

I really don't tend to wear black shoes with khakis, and lord knows I have a lot of them...brown shoes, even Docs, might work. In the summer, sandals would work. In the winter...K Swiss' would work for that quasi-bboy kind of look, but I don't really like it. Stick with a semi-formal brown shoe and you'll be good.

the thing is that this is the look i'm going for next year for school and wearing nice dress shoes doesn't really seem that great

To go with khakis use #4, #1 is okay, #5 only if you really like them. Don't where white shoes with khakis, end of story; this rule includes options #2 & #3.

Yes, they are the sh|t.
I used to be a timberland or dr martens guy, but these rockport are just so comfy and less bulky.

Depends on the color of your khakis, these are more for metro look.

Light brown (select natural-scratch)
Cream (bone)

For white shoes I've always liked Adidas Superstar 2Gs, hard to find in all-white though.
