What are good RAM latencies?

I read the DFI thread with memory suggestions, but I don't understand. They say 2-2-2-X is good, but then they suggest higher when it's 1GBx2 instead of 512MBx2.

Thanks to whoever can clear this up.

Ah okay. I saw some Mushkins that were 2-3-2-5.

You said stock, so I'm assuming you can decrease the latencies? How do you do that?

you can decrease latencies in the bios. But faster memory is usually preffered over timing, especially with amd64 cpu's

Apparently some boards prefer the tRAS to be higher than 5, the A8N32 review recomended increasing it for some reason to 7. In other words it doesn't matter all that much to have low tRAS.

Yeah, i've heard people say 11 is fine. Seems crazy. There is a huge in depth explanation of timings on DFI-Street, if you're really interested.
