OCZ support is something to consider, its amazing ,responses within about 10 minutes, they offered to replace my psu even though id damaged it myself by setting wrong input voltage. Also read stories of people getting there ram replaced 2-3 years down the line with their choice from current line.

Obviously I'm wrong. I like Antec a lot.

Sparkle is awesome
any generics at work in PC's from before my time, are swapped with a $30 Sparkle 300W and I've yet to have one fail... I really, really like their power supplies... IMO the best you can get in that price range. good quality and reliability.

seasonics (those with APFC anyways) work at any input voltage, so no switch to mess up 😉

A used antec mine is 3 years old and no hiccups 400watt 412x I reccomend highly has the POTS as well 🙂

I've been told that "SuperFlower" is made in the same factory as Enermax, and to similar specs. This is true for most power supplies, they're made by a few companies with different lables on them to slightly different specifications. IOW, companies like Enermax, Antec, and Vantec don't manufacture anything, they're marketing companies.

ive used enermax, antec, and pc power with no negative results. recommend all 3.

Add Sparkle, and I concur.

Incidentally, I still have (not using though) a PC Power & Cooling 235watt PSU, and it's a rebadged Sparkle. AKAIK, PCP&C does not manufacture anything, but they do pick the top components to use.

I know Toms Hardware is exactly popular here, but they have done and do PSU comparisons quite frequently. And they have recommendations on what to avoid, so please see:

yes, but that article is over 2 years old

for instance the reviewed seasonic SS-400FS isn't really comparable to the current SS-400AGX A3 and i'm sure the other manufacturers have similarly upgraded their products

Fortron, Sparkle, and Antec. Only ones I have used with personal machines. I would recommend any of the 3.

HERE IS A COMPAIRISON TO ANOTHER PSU ( I BELIEVE IT IS AN ANTEC, BASED ON CLOSE EXAMIATION.)

I CAN SEE THE REAR MOLEX CONNETION ON THE BACKPLATE THAT IS ALMOST A TRADEMARK OF ANTEC TRUE POWER PSU'S

THEY CAN ALSO CUSTOM BUILD A PSU TO FIT ANY OF YOU SWEET DESIRES, WANTS OR NEEDS. LARGER CAPICITORS, 110VOLT SWITCHED POWER ON THE INSTIDE OR OUTSIDE (GREAT FOR WATER PUMPS, LIGHTS, INTERGRATED PC TOASTEROVENS (PRESCOTT OWNERS NEED NOT APPLY) , CUSTOM CONNECTORS , ADDITIONAL MOLEX CORDS, YOU NAME IT OR DREAM IT THEY CAN DO IT FOR YOU!

REQUIRES ADOBE ACROBAT .PDF

You should pop one open Googer and see what the components say. I thought they were all made in Asia.

Some of the components may be asian made but to the best of my knowledge the power supply unit is alsembled in the USA.
Just like Ford imports some car parts from asia (china and japan) and assembles the cars in Michigan (25% foreign 75% domestic).

I have an OCZ powerstream 520 powering an overclocked Prescott system with 6 hard drives in it. I was concerned that it was blowing some seriously warm air from the system through it but it has been running fine for 4 months now. Voltages are stable and it doesn't even flinch when I power it on to spin up all of those hard drives. Best of all I still have over 4 1/2 years of warranty coverage left.

I would not recommend any of them, if you are looking for a psu under 100 bucks then look at Pc power and cooling's Silencer Line of Power Supplys. Other Recomendations based on my experience- Antec True Power or OCZ
