HI

I have done some research and all i have been able to come up with are the following:
Creative Labs 2.1 2500
Creative Labs 2.1 2400
Creative Inspire 2.1 SLIM 2600 PC Multimedia Speaker System
Logitech Z-340
Logitech Z-220

Are there any others that are good and under 50?

If it helps, i will be using these for music and watching anime, and games maybe later(EQ2)

thx

The CL 2500's or LT 220's are both decent choices, though I might lean more towards the LT 220's.. :)

I know of nothing that compares to these Telex speakers, they may be a bit big and kinda retro looking but they sound incredible, it may be a YMMV but your local Compusa should have these instore for $49.99, even though they are around $200 online, here is the link to them at Comp also here are some links for reviews:

I am gonna have to check out my local compusa now.

how do these speakers compare to the 2.1 from klispch?

how come these r 200 online and like 50 instore? is it because they r old? I dont think age matters in speakers because i think my old jbl with the horn tweeters sound alot better then the jbl at best buy.

thx for the input guys

If you seeing something for 200 online and 50 in the stores, chances are you are confusing the 220's with the 2220's.. :)

He's talking about the EVS I posted about, they were on sale at $49.99 both online and in B&M, now the online price shows them back at $200 but I believe they can be bought instore for $49.99 still, (hopefully).

$60 But they are
great little speakers. And this paticular model has been around for quite some time originaly designed by Henry Kloss
Long time before they were bought up by creative.

Eriqesque, I just ordered a set from Cambridge. Thanks for the suggestion.

I didn't think to check for the deeply-discounted Electro-Voice at CompUSA. The smaller Cambridge tweeters probably will fit better on my desk, though. The Cambridge units got high marks from audiophiles and gamers alike and, of course, they were designed by one of the masters.

My current sound card won't do the speakers justice, but I'm gradually accumulating the bits and pieces to build a new system.

I recently picked up a set of the Creative T2900 2.1 speakers from Circuit City for $19.95 after rebate. Newegg has them for $50 shipped Link. For inexpensive speakers, I think they sound pretty good. For $20, I consider them a steal (assuming the rebate comes through).

What about the Creative I-Trigue for $77 at Newegg? They look fantastic, and the specs look quite good too. I'm about to spring for a set.

I've got a set of Labtech Pulse 424's. The highs on them are decent, but the bass rocks! They've got an 8 inch sub and that thing rattles my windows. I don't think they make them anymore, but they've been great for me. Picked them up for 50 bucks at Best Buy about 2 or 3 years ago.

So sorry for your ears then... :p

Have you consider Altec Lansing? How about Midiland?

(google is your friend, try "3D sound surge")

for cheap speakers i think the logitech z-340 sound very nice....at least to my ears. But yeah, you probably won't be able to crank them to ridiculous levels. But for a 1 bedroom apt. like mine that's fine.
