When you're building or using a computer for an extended amount of time, what are your essential programs that are needed for even basic functionality?

Mine:
Winrar
Winamp
VLC
Trillian
VMware Workstation
Display fusion

foobar2000
7zip
Pidgin
Daemon Tools Lite
Firefox
Thunderbird
Cygwin (for ssh and LaTeX mostly)
VLC
Foxit
CutePDF Writer

OpenOffice
VLC and MPC + ffdshow
WinRar
Firefox + Flash
WinAmp or foobar
GIMP
FoxIt or Acrobat
PowerToys (pretty much all)
CDBurnerXp
dbPowerAmp
AntiVir
Comodo
Spyware Doctor (Google Tools Pack version)
Daemon Tools
VirtualDubMod (old school, but it works)
Audacity

for windoze machines, Firefox is about it as far as truly essential, I guess, since that's all that's common between my home and work computers. Other programs I install right away on my home computer after an OS wipe or something are foxit, winrar, pidgin, itunes, etc., but none of those are on my current laptop at work.

for *nix machines, I've for some reason accustomed myself to the text editor Joe, so I always grab that first. I can use vi if someone forces me, but I'd really rather not.

utilities to keep me online in remote areas
autocad

acrobat

and many support drivers/ utilities for the work programs.
