Intel has a program for certified laptops that can be built and customized by OEM's.

i actually replaced my cpu twice already.

I got it with a T7300. I wanted a T7700 but didnt want to to wait the 2 weeks.

Replaced it, and then the penryn chips came out, so i grabed a T9300, and all is happy on my end. :T

Just to let you know, by doing so, you totally void warrenty. So if you even try, please make sure you know what you are doing. Once you open that baby up and rip the blue screw seals, they will know you opened it, and automatically void your warenty.

There are also Mobiles for Desktop(M.O.D.) desktops that use Mobile CPUs. They are not as common but are still out there.
