What are all these options on my monitor?

I got a 22" NEC FE1250+. Theres like 10 pages of options in the OSD that I don't know what they are. The manual says nothing about them. Theres just some letters and a value.

Convergence options, corner adjustments (for all four corners)...tons of other stuff, I don't even remember it all. I used to have the NEC FP2141SB-BK and there were about eleventy billion configuration options on it too. :p

You should download the NaviSet software from NEC's website...it allows you to control all of that stuff via software (which IIRC actually does somewhat explain all the options).

That reminds me of the factory menu on my TV. You get all those options normally with that NEC CRT? *drool*

lol, those are pretty poorly labelled. I recognize some of them but others don't seem familiar. I have about that many options on mine but the things have intelligible labels for the most part.

You could make a note of the default value and then just try playing around with each option. It will usually be pretty obvious what it does. Most of them are probably control the geometry; I think mine has something like 18 geometry related settings.

I had focus issues with the CRT (and even on a second one when I RMA'd it, and even on different video cards)...wasn't nearly as clear for text as I would have liked. I absolutely loved the super-high refresh rates though. But the LCD works better for me right now since it has perfect text quality over DVI, very little motion blur, and it's 50 pounds lighter (and I live on the fourth floor of an old dorm building with no elevators ;)). I still would like to get a huge CRT again to play with one of these years though.

And thanks for the hair compliment

yeah, looks like you had the same experience I did. I was more patient with the multiple RMAs (three of them :p) than I might have normally been since it was getting close to the end of the semester and I didn't have much time to play games anyway. At least I had a good one on my hands by the time the finals were over. :D
