I need to write zeros to a hard drive within Windows.

Which application can do this?

Most hard drive manufacturers have applications that will zero-fill a drive for you. I know my Maxtor drives do. What brand do you have?

It is a Maxtor.

Problem is if I boot with the Maxtor Maxblast 3 diskette, the drive I want to zero-fill is on the raid controller and is not accessable.

Is it just one drive you want to zero-fill? Is it the same drive you use with your Windows install (meaning you're wiping everything)? I'm not familiar with RAID setups at all, so the only advice I could give is possibly taking the drive off the controller and plug it into a regular IDE slot on the mobo. Then you could access it from within DOS.

Also, the the MaxBlast software, you can access the zero-fill option from within Windows itself (assuming the drive you are erasing is NOT the Windows install drive). Possibly it will then be able to see the drive. If not, it's probably just a shortcoming of the MaxBlast software.
