What annoys you about young people?

These two terrible threads really need to be combined because no arbitrary group of humans has a monopoly on idiocy.

Statistically speaking, most people are fucking idiots. Doesn't matter if they're old, young, rich, poor, any ethnicity, any nationality.. Most people aren't worth the fresh water that 78% of their body is made of.

This. We were all dumbass, self-centered, know-it-all teenagers at one point.

Young people's parents annoy me the most.

Buying their kids expensive cell phones, cars, clothes, etc. and turning them into stupid little punks who think the world owes them something. Yeah, just what we need -- another braindead, egotistical, self centered shithead.

Sense of entitlement.

QFT. Just because you want something does not mean you deserve it.

The "millennial" syndrome: young adults created by years of being spoiled and sheltered by parents who took care of everything. They never lost anything; they always "won" because it was un-pc to give them bad news. Now they are getting into the work world and feel that the world owes them a six-figure job where they can hang out, play, chat, twitter, facebook, and do no real work whatsoever. Oh, and you have to love and respect them for this otherwise their feelings will be hurt.

Also...excessive texting, etc. They don't seem to know how to function without being tied to some electronic device. Real, human conversations are so like 20th Century. (This only applies to people born a few years after 1980. They are in contrast to people like me who grew up alongside the Internet/computer revolution and tend to have the best balance of knowledge about technology; we don't take it for granted.)

Their absolute inability to speak a paragraph without inserting "like", "ya know" or "I mean" when their pinhead vocabulary cant get the point across.

What annoys me the most is then old people complain about young people cus you were the same when you were that age. Remember, the music you liked your parents hated as well.

[*]Their inability to speak properly.

[*]Failure to wash their hands at any point during the day.

[*]Thinking that they are the first to ever do something or have a particular idea because they dont see it around them. Fact is, its fail and not done FOR A REASON (that they have yet to discover). I think this is what annoys me the most.

example:

Some idiot teen was looking at people and acting as if he knew what someone was thinking, even though they didnt say anything to him. So he made an assumption and spoke it out loud, then proceeded to address his own assumption. Very annoying.

When he pulled that on me, I didnt say anything initially. But as he was leaving I said, "I can read minds". He stopped and looked at me and decided to leave. I then said, "Thats right, keep walking". I wanted to say "and next time keep your fscking mouth shut", but I felt I already made my point. It never pays to be tacky!

yep.

I can't help but think though, looking at my generation, that the generations get progressively stupider and stupider despite having greater access to more (and more refined) knowledge than the generations before.

I'm not sure about the rest of what you said, but you're on to something here. As the generations have past(speaking from an American point of view), there has been a progressive lack of general class since the 50s or so. It seems like each successive generation picks up the worst aspects of the previous, and runs with it, without the balance of the better aspects.

Their sense of entitlement. They think old people own them.

When they become so uncaring of their own life that they don't bother to clean up the acne on their faces. It is so annoying.

They make you turn on the air conditioning because they're hot despite wearing almost nothing when it's like 70+ degrees outside.

Driving

Their driving

Driving, when they obviously are below the age to safely drive.

Who would force you to turn on the AC? So you are intolerant of other people if they are more sensitive to temperature than you? awesome

Are you TRYING to live up to your user name?

His post is a parody of a similar post in the "What annoys you about old people" thread.

People have been lamenting the degeneration of the new generation for centuries. It's no more relevant today than it has ever been.

Their sense of entitlement.
Lack of respect for older people.

I don't see the holding open the door for others, or excuse me or please, as much as I did.

The trend to become more and more self centered. Lack of concern for others.

These days? Well... what my son does that annoys me - which I didn't do when I was a teenager. I was more responsible - sure I liked to have fun as any other teenager...but the things he does is just plain ridiculous:

Doesn't take care of his hair/face so he ends up with oily hair and pimples - even though he has soap and face wash
His apparel
Texting on the cell phone.
Irresponsible [if he doesn't like doing a chore, say vacuuming, the vacuum will mysteriously break]
Lazy when it comes to doing chores / taking care of his car.
Posting "thug" type pictures on his facebook/myspace
