Questions for users of Dish and DTV:
How do your regular channels look? I know that is highly subjective, and based on your display, etc... but I have standard Dish and even on my 27" crt from 9 feet away I see artifacting on everything. I've switched it out once and it still looks the same.
I currently pay about $45/month for my SD Dish including DVR. I'd like to keep the bill as low as possible while still going HD. With Dish, I would pay $20/month more for HD, and possibly an upgrade fee. If I switch to DTV, I'm not sure how much a comparable package would be. How much are you folks paying?
EDIT I just did a quick online setup for DTV, it came out to $70/month, which is comparable to Dish HD. BUT the startup is $199 which is certainly higher than what Dish would make me pay.
EDIT 2: If they do in fact offer all those HD channels as listed above, then I could skimp and get the cheapest "family" package which has very limited SD content for $50/month. I don't think I'd be missing much if they do in fact offer all those in HD. I wonder if the package structure is going to change if/when the new HD channels roll out?
