What all should I save to disk before a format/install?

I have acquired a virus or worm (SURNOVA) through a dl from Kazaa that I can't seem to get
rid of. Also, my system is getting unstable so I intend to format/install W2k/W98 tonite.

What all should I remember to save to CD before I do?

Also, I have AVG on my system. If I scan each file for viruses before I burn to CD, can I be
reasonably certain that I don't transfer the WORM to my freshly formatted harddrive?

Thanks for your advice,

Jeff

All your documents, PST file if you use Outlook, music, pictures, saved game files (usually what I do). Load your virus scanner on your newly formatted drive, update it to the latest definitions, and when you copy off the cd it should pick up on any infected ones before it copies.
