What all do you do to keep your computer running at peak performance?

I'm just curious what you do, how often you do it, what programs you use, to keep your computer top notch?
Stuff like Scan disc, Defrag, Norton System Check, Go through your programs and clean out unused programs... What do you do?
 
i have always used Norton's. I have always liked speed disk. That gay defrag that comes with Windows sucks. I recently upgraded to norton's system works. I love it. It has this one button scan thing it does that seems to do a good job of doing everything.

I double click on the cstrike icon, if it does not open, I reboot and then it works. if it doesn't work, I scream and curse until it fixes itself.

I don't know about that, but I have caught fans that were getting ready to go... and that alone is enough to motivate me to break my stuff down and clean it monthly. Besides, every so often I once I've pulled out and opened 3 full towers I figure,hey, the case is open I might as well go ahead and upgrade something in here while I'm at it🙂
 
I open up the case and clean up the fans, blow out any dust, and make sure the vent holes near the fan are clean. Other than scan disk and a defrag, I don't do anything else.
 
After I install Windows and add all my programs, drivers, and updates I use Norton Ghost and burn it to CDRWs. If something messes up or its running slow, I'll format the disk and reimage it. Takes about 15 minutes.

Same Here, But I am Getting Really Close..
 
Defrags... I try to install as little as possible to minimize clutter, only what I use or whatever. i also like to organize my hdd neatly with the data.

That's about it.. my system seems to run mint...
 
hammer09. I have a question about your Ghosting. So do you Image your WHOLE computer?!?! How many discs is that? I mean that would take forever. Or do you only image certain parts?
