What all can Financial aid be used for?

I am currentlly taking some computer certifications, which I am paying for with a loan from a finacial institution. Since the school said that financial aid doesn't cover computer cert classes. Is this true? What about the tests is there any way that I can maybe get a grant or something to help with the cost of the tests? Thanks
