Just got my E6400, P5B-E yesterday. Not happy with the stock heat sink temps so I settled on this.

340 FSB, 2720mhz processor.
ocz platinum rev. 2 at 825mhz 4-4-4-15

I am able to run this at 1.22 vcore and 2.0 vdimm. stays nice and cool(41/48). I have been looping prime 95 torture test for an hour now and no faults.

I'll up the vcore and go for max clock when I get a water cooler. But this is something to think about when you are trying to find a good combo for everyday use.

Also, what a beast this thing is. I'm getting +20fps in FEAR over my x2 3800+ @2.4ghz. I run at 1680*1050 so I'm pretty GPU bound so I never thought to see a jump like that from a processor upgrade.

err, that makes me angry because I had the chance to get a core 2 duo, but no people told me that it would sell out instantly. I guess the X2 gets the job done well though.

edit: Duvie why do you have three diffrent high end core 2 machines?

one is a quad core!

I use one for my work machine (CAD)

I use the 2nd one for encoding/multitmedia...

The 3rd is strictly a F@H box...

oh ok, the F@H box explains it now. Good idea having a seperated CAD and multimedia machine btw.

I am now running at 350fsb/2.8ghz and 850/ram with the same voltages, cool as a cucumber with stock fan. No errors. 48c under extreme load. Playing games does not roast it like prime95 torture test does.

Unbelievable. To achieve overclocks like this at 1.225 volts. To have to up the voltage just to get to 3.0+ghz doe snot make sense at this point.

I upped the vcore to 1.25 and am stable at 3.3ghz. This chip is a beauty. 43-50c temps

Nice . . . Intel will get a lot of mileage out of this core and/or future variants. Can't wait for the E4300.
