What about the Soltek DRV5?

the new soltek drv5 based on the kt333 chipset is available for pre-order @ www.ncix.com (a canadian shop) and I plan on ordering one in about 2 weeks.. however I cant seem to find any reviews or anyone mention the board on any forums. Soltek seems to be a pretty good mobo manufacturer based off the good things I heard about the drv2 and drv4 boards, but I'm still a little unsure. I'd preferably get an epox 8k3a+ but I dont know when that's gona be released and I don't want to wait any longer than march 15th

Go for it! Solteks have always been awesome in my books. My old rig had the DRV2, and it beat out an 8kha+ i had in everything except memory bandwitdth which it lost by a little. The reason it lost in mem. bandwidth is because for some reason my nanya memory could run in ultra with the epox but only normal on soltek...hope they fixed that.

I really like the Gigabyte version of VIA's kt333. This is the only kt333 mobo that I have seen that has an integrated lan port. As far as Soltek goes... they are usually great... timely bios and driver updates.... great support site.

Cheers!

<< Geesh... did they have to put "(NEW)" next to my post... >>

Heh.. They put new next to all the new posts by any member. LOL!! I think it's funny that you thought AT was singling you out for being a new member. 😉

BTW.. Welcome.

Yeah is very fast mobo the V5, the only problem I found myself is the position the Power connector, my P/S wont reach there, so I stick with the Soltek V2 . Also ckeck the Shuttle GTS 2

Soltek is apparently the current bench mobo for THG.

There's also a review of the DRV5 at legion hardware I think.

Go find the links yerself... I'm sick.

BTW: The Shuttle AK35GTR rev2.2 isn't available yet.

I just bought the soltek DRV5, I'm still painting my case so I can't give you any feedback. But I will say that I've heard good enough things to make me purchase it over the epox mb. The soltek comes with a nice software bundle too. 4 or 5 apps like "partion magic", "drive image". Those two programs alone are worth just as much as the board. I'm feeling positve of my choice to go with soltek.

Just my 2 cents

Soltek rocks.. I got a SL75DRV4 from NCIX.com and it is a fabulous mainboard... painless setup, quick, and stable. overclocks well too so far!

I recommend this board/board maker whole-heartedly as it is a very good price/performance setup... Great products
