So you come in with heavy bulky clothing and exchange it.

There are multiple scenarios that could shaft the store.

Can I trade in my huge old 30" tube TV for 3 new 60" flatscreens? :)

I'd just put rocks in my pockets and leave them all around the store.

I can answer that. I had a colonoscopy done a year or so ago. I set up a betting pool with my family to guess how much shit-weight I would lose during the preparations for the colonoscopy. It turns out it was about 3 pounds. Now you know.

what if everything was tagged with rfid's and everything you 'steal' just gets charged to your debit card?

sorta
and just weighed u coming in and out
could be like a fetish thing

Would only work if the things would were selling had the similar value per pound. Wouldn't work at Wal-Mart but it's OK at the buffet.

It could work, Movie stars are notorious for shoplifting trinkets. So making a store where you have an account that draws from your Amex automatically on "stolen" items.

Good idea. Someone should open up a prototype store. Invitation only to the trustafarians and movie star crowd.

Amazon or Google have some prototype stores actually, that work like that. At least, I think I read about them in Gizmodo.

Look up "Amazon store" or "google bodega". Maybe that will point you in the right direction.

Way, way, way back in the 80s sometime ... yeah before the internet took off there, was segment on a local TV news program about just this sort of concept.

You'd walk in to a store, grab a cart, fill it and walk out. A scanner system at the door would log everything on the way out and charge a payment source. They didn't get into WHICH payment source or how pricing errors would be addressed.

Store is called the US government. We still don't have all our top secret documents back yet.

What other store is there where you steal their shit and they ask for it back with a pretty please.
