What a way to ruin a BMW!

Faster than the V10 from BMW

I'll take an American V8 for reliablity over any german one. Parts are cheaper and HP is easy

Yeah, in the straight maybe, I'm willing to bet that the driving geometry of the BMW is, let's just say, not optimal anymore.

Don't count on that engine being reliable. It's easy to get crazy with the boost and blow a head gasket or worse on them.

"GOD DAMN" was said about 10 times. and the whistling needs to stop.

that bmw is no longer the purest driving machine

forget about that 50/50 weight dist

i'm sure its one hell of a fast car tho, i just wouldn't do that to a bmw.

maybe drop that huge engine into a crap body like the cobalt and make it fly

From everywhere I've read the M3 V8 and a modern 350 LS1/2 weigh about the same and I'm sure the extra beefing for the power didn't add hundreds and hundreds of pounds and anyways who the hell would track a 1,000hp street car??? I guess you guys forget about the people replacing their rotaries with LS engines cus they are light and powerful.

Jersey plates... figures

Not a bad conversion for a 325, but that wing needs to go. E46 m3 motor weights 478lbs, Ls-1 is around 450lbs. Cast iron block 350 will be in the neighborhood of 550lbs...that would tip the balance forward a decent amount.

Pretty sure an LS1 or similar aluminum block GM V8 would weigh about the same as the stock engine in that. Sure, it might lack the I6 goodness found in a BMW, but that's going to blow the doors off of just about anything else. However, with the sound of that idle, it's probably not very civil on the road. Should've gone with a couple of T88's instead, would've maintained some streetability.

Then again, the whole concept probably precludes that to begin.

Charger noise is annoying.

Plus what is with the 1000 hp claim? Can they back that up?

What do you think we are creationists? Pics or shens.

I kind of like it, as freaky Frankenstein projects go, and I say that as the owner of an unmodified 3 series. Those guys are annoying as hell, though. Is there some kind of rule that every homemade car video on Youtube has to include a ton of gratuitous cursing?

God dayum!!

The screaching is annoying, but if it means more power I'm sure I could get past it. I don't really see the point in this though...other than for actual serious Racing. I wouldn't want to drive it on the road.

nothing wrong with it in theory...but honestly thats alot of work to go thru to put a carberated motor in it....seriously if your going to do it get a LS series motor and supercharge it if you want that type of power. Personally I would love to find a cheap 3series with a blown motor and do this myself, would just do a LS2 or something with 400ish HP which would be more than enough power, and from what i've read is actually a bit lighter than the motor in the m3 anyway.

I hope the owner had the transmission, brakes, etc. upgraded as well to deal with the extra bhp.

How do better brakes help them hit the elusive 1000hp mark?😕

You'll notice that no one ever has a car with 994 hp, or 1034 hp.

Heavier car (due to heavier engine) would presumably need better brakes.

It's more important that they upgraded everything else cus of the power not cus of the weight.

Man, when are Americans going to learn? I 'll give credit that those engines might be able to output lots of power for the $ and can handle a lot of beating and cost less to build and fix.

But I'll also say that they sure sound like utter CRAP. Even without that screeching cricket noise from hell, almost any American muscle car when you step on the gas peddle, it just sounds and feels like a freaking freight truck! The sound might be brutal...but not all brutal sounds are good to hear, an ole Donkey has a pretty brutal sound to it, but I doubt I would find much pleasure in listening to a freaking Donkey all day long. But who am I to judge guys who like their cars to sound like freaking freight trucks? Oh that's right, I have to bare witness to these primitive sounds during the week, outside the office, while I am walking around... when I am in traffic....etc

And for those who say people do this to BMWs so others don't suspect that it has 1000HP and treat them as racers. Give me a BREAK!

With a spoiler that would be more at home on a Freaking Escudo Pikes Peak and noise that would be more at home on a freaking aircraft carrier... Nice would not be something I would call that noise and not even the most inbred of cops in the US will be fooled for a moment that that is not a racer car that it's driver needs spend a night in the slammer.

Now, compare that abomination of a noise they call "NICE" that those guys assisted in bringing forth to existence to the noise that 3-series could be making had they gone about this in a different direction.

Nice non-American Inline 6 Noise
